EMMET BRADY

Emmet Bradywas (1846-1933) born in Glasgow and lived and worked as a painter and etcher in Scotland spending time between Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire and Glasgow.

Brady worked almost entirely in watercolours, delighting in painting the rural Scottish landscape and highlands, the busy shipping port of The Clyde and Scarborough harbour and Scottish shipping vessels on the open ocean. With a soft, tonal palette he rendered a naturalistic scenes allowing the play of light to create an atmospheric picture.

Celebrated in his lifetime and collected by discerning Scottish collectors of art, his work can be seen in The Sterling Smith Art Gallery & Museum in Scotland as well as in notable private collections.
