ALBERT FRIEDRICH SCHRODER

Albert Friedrich Schroder was a painter and illustrator born in Dresden in 1954 and was a member of the Munich School of Painting.Despite his German origins, Schroder was influenced by the art of the lowlands, having been taught under Charles Verlat, a Belgian painter.Schroder was fond of depicting historical and costumed subjects, although he also painted figures and portraits during his career. Typically, he favoured affluent interior scenes of gentlemen passing time by drinking or gambling.Working in both Munich and Dresden, Schroder painted genre, figure and portraits.
