ARTIST

DOUGLAS FALCONER

The artist was born circa 1910 and he was professionally trained as a furniture designer. Amongst his many interesting assignments was his designing and supervision of the making of the auctioneers rostrums at Christies after a bomb destroyed the old ones during the war.

He painted as a hobby and once he found his pictures began to sell he stopped furniture design and became a full time artist. Most of his subjects are of Europe and Britain in particular with Scotland and the Lake District featuring prominently.
