The artist was born in 1950, of Anglo-Indian parentage. His parents died when he was quite young, and after his marriage he decided along with his wife and daughter to join his father's side of the family and take up permanent residence in this country. He studied art at East Ham College and decided to become a full-time artist in the early 1980's. Since then he has shown his work at the Stock Exchange Annual Exhibition, and in1982 he received the Society's Award for work of outstanding merit. Hogg regularly exhibits at the annual exhibition of the Society of Wildlife Artists and has won numerous following awards for his work and for his support of wildlife conservation.George Hogg's preferred medium is water-colour, and his favourite painting areas are Epping Forest and WansteadPark, where he captures his carefully observed birds and wild animals in their natural habitat. In 1986 the artist was accepted into the Society of Wildlife Artists.
