    This beautiful original oil painting by Alexandre Jacob depicts a the tranquil French river scene with a small village in the distance. Alexandre Jacob undertook his formal artistic training at the Académie des Beaux-Arts with Eugene Claude. Jacob lived just outside Paris in Asnières-sur-Seine, situated on the banks of the river Seine. The Seine and the rural countryside around this area is the subject of much of Jacob’s landscapes.
