Deshamp spent most of his working life in Provence and soon became known for his evocative landscapes of the area, painting idyllic village scenes basking in the Mediterranean sunshine. He was also drawn to vibrant harbour scenes of the Cote d’Azur and his beautiful paintings are full of brightly coloured boats that jostle for space on the glittering water.
Deschamps exhibited widely in Paris, Algiers, Oran and Casablanca, and his work is represented in important private collections in Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, USA and Argentina.
