Shelf of Toys.

Shelf of Toys by Donald Hamilton Fraser.

Two red and blue wooden soldiers lead a collection of brightly coloured toys on their journey across a white wooden shelf, tucked in close so as to not wake the children.  Not a sound is heard through the house as they prepare their escape… The thick white shelf dominates the lower half of the painting, creating contrast and texture in this abstract still life.
