About the event

Gladwell & Patterson will be joining The Game Fair at Blenheim Palace between 26th and 28th July 2024 on Stand C864.

Gladwell & Patterson, dealers in fine art are delighted to participate once again in this annual celebration of the British countryside for those passionate about country pursuits. We bring with us our long and prestigious history and our reputation for representing artists whose subject matter captures the natural world, as the old phrase goes, be it animal, vegetable or mineral.

We are looking forward to having UNESCO World Heritage Site Blenheim Palace as our backdrop, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. We will be introducing a collection of artists whose work could grace the walls of the finest country houses. Fleeting moments of beauty revealed by Mother Nature or a moment of connection between the animal and human world, are captured on canvas through the master stroke of a paint brush.

Prominent amongst an outstanding selection of art will be bronze sculptures by award-winning Anthony Theakston whose hauntingly pure bronze pieces are created through a balance between curve, line and expression. He draws inspiration from the birds in the Lincolnshire countryside in which he lives. On entering the stand, visitors will be led through a garden of playful driftwood sculptures created by James Doran-Webb. James repurposes unique pieces of long dead wood to create vitality and movement in his animal subjects who seem to be at once of the landscape and emerging from it.

Artist Martin Taylor will be painting on the stand on Saturday 27th July. His highly detailed landscapes of the undulating British countryside illicit a sense of belonging in the observer. They will invite you in, to step over a style or to walk along a hedgerow amongst the flowers and, walk and admire.

Visit Gladwell & Patterson on Stand C864.
