Pennsylvania Antiques Show
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
At the inaugural Pennsylvania Antiques Show, Gladwell & Patterson will make their debut with a focused presentation of Post-Impressionist masterpieces, bringing together a tightly curated group of European paintings from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The presentation centres on artists working at a moment of transition, when traditional landscape and figure painting were being reshaped through new approaches to colour, structure and surface.
Our selection explores the breadth of Post-Impressionism as an international movement, highlighting painters whose careers were shaped by travel, regional schools and shifting artistic centres. Painted across France and neighbouring regions, the works reflect varied responses to modern life, from rural settings and river landscapes to more formally structured compositions, each grounded in close observation and material discipline.
