ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

We are delighted to announce that Gladwell & Patterson will be exhibiting at The Petworth Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair this May. Located within the grounds of the famous National Trust property in the picturesque market town of Petworth, a wonderful selection of furniture, jewellery and many other decorative and unique works of art spanning the centuries will be available to the discerning collector.

Gladwell & Patterson celebrate a historic 275 years in 2023, making us London’s oldest art gallery. Over the course of our historic 275 years the gallery has always sought out the finest artists and their work. We have carefully curated an exquisite selection of artworks especially for The Petworth Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair which will showcase a stunning selection of paintings and sculpture.

The highlight of our exhibition will be a vibrant abstract landscape by Ivon Hitchens, famous in the Petworth area, where the artist lived and worked following the London blitz. This exquisite work, painted in 1957, depicts the surrounding Sussex countryside in Hitchens unique bold colour and brushstrokes.

Gladwell & Patterson are proud to present an exceptional collection of Post-Impressionist masterpieces by Gustave Loiseau, Georges Charles Robin and Alexandre Louis Jacob to bring the beauty of the European countryside to picturesque Sussex. Alongside these masters of the twentieth-century, we will be showcasing a select group of our contemporary British artists, including Peter Symonds and Martin Taylor. Bronze sculptures by Nick Bibby and Simon Gudgeon will also be on view.
