Gladwell & Patterson are thrilled to present Wine & Whimsy. The exhibition brings together painters whose work is united not by subject, but by a shared attentiveness to everyday pleasures, observed and reimagined with individuality. In the setting of our Stamford gallery Orangery, this exhibition sparks conversation between the surreal, colour and character.

It is not always straightforward to decide where a sardine should sit, or how a gouard might be placed, particulary once translated onto a wall. This exhibition approaches that age old question with a simple resolution, why not bring them together. Works by Czainski, Tuck, Hargan, Brown and Waldron, with a considered addition of Wileman, introduce a new chapter to surreal expressionism, one within reach to live with.
