Chelsea as Unusual

by Graham Magee

May 2020 sees us not at the Royal Hospital Chelsea exhibiting at the World’s finest flower show but, as with all of you, firmly at home.

So we have taken the decision to deconstruct and reconstruct our usual stand at Chelsea here in the garden at Molecey Mill. Unpacking the walls of our exhibition stand and building it for 2020 means that our gallery among the flowers will go ahead in a virtual dimension.

Today, Thursday 14 May would have seen us up at the crack of dawn in Battersea Park in a steady vehicle queue of garden designers, builders, plants men and women and a whole host of the finest horticultural minds all ready to put on a wonderful gardening display.

The run from the garage to our stables was a lot shorter and the walls seemed a lot lighter. Glenn persevered to replan the layout and after an early start the Gladwell and Patterson stand not at the Chelsea Flower Show started to take shape. The stand you might recognise from the last few years fitted well under our oak frames and the space is giving some extra distance to the walls. Whilst G&P can’t take you on a sneak preview of the 2020 RHS Chelsea Flower Show. We hope you enjoy our stand build this morning at home.
