20-20 is a bold, enigmatic sculpture by British artist Anthony Theakston, renowned for his minimalist abstractions of the avian form. Crafted in a rich, black patina, this piece is among his most conceptually striking. The form is reduced to its most potent geometry; a smooth, elliptical mass perched above a narrowing pedestal, culminating in a finely honed beak that cleaves the sculpture’s surface with perfect symmetry. The sculptural lines converge on twin voids that hint at watchful, forward-facing eyes: sharp, intelligent and unblinking.
