This refined still life by Dylan Waldron presents a striking blue glass vase set against a softly graduated ground, accompanied by delicately arranged rose hips. Executed with exceptional precision, the composition balances vivid colour with calm restraint, allowing each object to command quiet presence. Waldron’s masterful handling of light and surface creates a sense of clarity and stillness, while the harmonious palette lends the work a timeless, contemplative quality. The painting reflects a deep respect for classical still life traditions, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

  • Dylan Waldron is a British artist known for his meticulous technique and finely detailed paintings. He studied at Stourbridge College of Art and later earned his degree in Art & Design from Wolverhampton Polytechnic in 1976. Since then, he has pursued a full-time career as a painter, exhibiting widely in the UK and internationally.

Waldron's artistic process is deeply rooted in traditional methods, utilising water-based media such as acrylic, gouache and watercolour. He achieves remarkable depth by carefully applying layers of transclucent glazes, giving his paintings a distinctive, highly detailed quality.

Spanning still-life compositions, landscapes, domestic interiors and portraits, Dylan is predominantly influenced by 17th-century Spanish painters, capturing a sense of austerity while highlighting the sensual beauty of his selected subject matter.
