Venice is rendered here not as a postcard-perfect scene, but as a living collage of moments, mooring posts, peeling shutters, glimmers of gold leaf and flickers of past grandeur.
It’s a place where reality and memory blur, echoing the words of art historian Camillo Boito, who described Venice as “a city built entirely of art, upon an imaginary foundation of water.”
Born in Kent, award winning artist Mike trained at the West Surrey College of Art and Design and the Royal Academy Schools. Since then he was exhibited widely in the U.K and was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. He now lives and works in North Devon.
