Franz Xavier was born in 1887 at Kaufneuern in Germany where he recieved his early education. He became a painter of porcelain at the famous Royal Nymphenburg Porcelain Factory, and it was here that his great talent was first recognised. He later studied in Munich, but in 1911, he emigrated to England and remained in London until 1919.
