OLIVIA TUCK | Lulworth Blue Lobster
Oil on Board
13 x 18 cms / 5 x 7 inches
Signed OT (lower right)
Olivia Tuck’s Lulworth Blue Lobster transforms a humble crustacean into a striking study of form and colour. Set against the soft opacity of a Lulworth Blue ground, the lobster’s gleaming shell glows with rich reds and burnt oranges, each stroke applied with confident immediacy. Tuck’s treatment of light heightens the object’s sculptural presence, lending grandeur to a quotidian subject. This contemporary still life bridges marine symbolism and painterly experimentation, resonating with modern realism and coastal art alike.
Ollie Tuck is a Sussex-based Still Life painter who has exhibited with the RSMA and ROI.
Her paintings are a response to the beauty of colour and light she finds in everyday subjects. Her recent works combine traditional still life subjects with a contemporary use of colour and pattern in highly decorative, joyful compositions.
Ollie has won awards including 2nd Place 'Stanley Grimm Memorial Award at the Royal Institute of Oil painters 2022, the RSMA Next Generation Award and Holly Bush Painter Prize, Best figurative painting, 2021.
