Weathered huts cluster together as if mid-conversation, their paintwork faded by sea air and stories. Bernard’s layered textures and hints of collage create a surface that fizzes with life, like sunlight catching on puddles.
There’s humour here, and warmth too, in the way he captures the everyday charm of a working shoreline. It would sit beautifully in a space that welcomes character and conversation, bringing a touch of the coast to any interior.
Born in Kent, award winning artist Mike trained at the West Surrey College of Art and Design and the Royal Academy Schools. Since then he was exhibited widely in the U.K and was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. He now lives and works in North Devon.
