A stylised interior scene set against a cool blue ground, centred on a framed portrait of a woman positioned above a mantelpiece. To the left, a formally dressed figure stands elevated on a chair, presenting a tray with a glass and playing cards, while to the right a slender dog stands alert beside the fireplace. Carefully arranged objects, including a glass of wine and small decorative elements, punctuate the space. Clean lines, controlled brushwork and a restrained palette of blues, whites and soft flesh tones create a composed, theatrical composition with a distinctive narrative structure.
